Sam Cobbett has just broken out of prison and enters the house of Mary Schaffner while her husband is away. Cobbett makes Mary cook for him, dismiss her neighbors when they come by, and pretend that everything is okay over the phone when her mother calls. Cobbett believes that he can take his time, but the police suddenly arrive to arrest him. They were tipped off by Mary's mother — Mary is deaf and should not have answered the phone. Directed by: Robert Stevens. Story by: S. R. Ross, Eustace & Francis Cockrell.
