The shy and lonely John Walters buys a special doll, handcrafted by a mysterious German toymaker, for his niece Doris. While Doris is less than thrilled by the doll, her uncle embarks on a search for the woman who modelled for it, leading him to the equally lonely teacher Mary Dickenson. Directed by: Phil Joanou.
