The Drowned Giant story

The gigantic, naked corpse of an unknown man washes up on the shore. Academics come to observe the giant, mounting him and encouraging spectators to do the same. One of the academics, Steven, becomes entranced by the giant and decides to watch from afar. Through philosophical perspectives, he narrates the decomposition and the desecration of the corpse as time goes on, along with the waning interest of the townspeople, who eventually forget the giant's existence.
