Solaris (Russian: Солярис) is a two-part 1968 Soviet television play in black- and-white based on the 1961 novel Solaris by Stanisław Lem. It was the first film adaptation of the novel. Synopsis: A crew of scientists on a space station attempt to understand an extraterrestrial intelligence, which takes the form of a vast ocean on the titular alien planet.
