Hologram-like special effects are frequently used in modern sci-fi movies. This theme should be used only if the holograms are explicitly discussed or are significant to the story.
Examples
In pkded1x10 "Kill All Others", Philbert is rather put off when he finds his wife sharing the sofa with a hologram of a sexy foreign man selling coffee.
