A character is being deliberately set-up so as to be suspected of a crime that they did not actually commit.

Examples:
In ahp1x37 "Decoy", Gil tries to confront his lover Mona's abusive husband but arrives to find the man murdered. Gil flees from the police and eventually discovers that Mona has, in fact, set him up so that she would be able to elope with the real murderer.
