racism in society theme
The issue of a large portion of society having an irrational (typically unfavorable) prejudice against people of a certain ethnicity, i.e., race, is discussed.
Notes
Any use of a racial slur is indicative of this prejudice. It is, however, possible for people of different ethnic groups to hate each other without any particular preconceived notions being apparent. In that case the theme "ethnic hatred" is used.
