A stereotypical character from a small town or the countryside is contrasted with a stereotypical character from a large city.
Examples
In talesoftheunexpected9x05 "The Facts of Life", we saw small town boy Nicholas get a taste of the high life in London. In particular, Nicholas' father was a religious traditionalist who feared the temptations preferred by sinful city-life (thieving, gambling, fighting, drinking, and whoring) all of which Nicholas got to experience first hand.
