In tng3x23 "Sarek", the eponymous Vulcan refuses to acknowledge the obvious fact that he suffers from a rare neurological disease that makes him succumb to emotionality. Priding themselves on their rationality, this would be highly embarrassing for any Vulcan, and doubly so for Sarek who is an esteemed diplomat.
