yokel stereotype theme
There is a steretypical country bumpkin kind of character, also known as a hillbilly or (in the USA) a redneck. Their attributes typically include a narrow view of the world, little education, and a perceived provincial attitude to personal hygiene.
Notes
The authors know very well that this stereotype is demeaning and most often misleading. It can nevertheless be featured in stories.
